
Hanoi, August 2, 2025 – As part of its commitment to strengthening professional capacity and leadership in Primary Healthcare, Hong Anh Healthcare Group, in collaboration with Hanoi Medical University and Modality Partnership (United Kingdom), successfully delivered the “Primary & Population Health Fundamentals” training programme. This advanced training programme was designed for healthcare professionals and healthcare managers to share international best practices, introduce emerging trends, and support the implementation of practical and effective healthcare solutions in Vietnam.
The programme is the result of a strategic partnership among three organisations:
Hanoi Medical University – As the lead academic institution, Hanoi Medical University coordinated the programme, collaborated with its international partners on academic content, and ensured the quality of training throughout this international initiative. With more than 120 years of excellence in medical education, research, and knowledge transfer, Hanoi Medical University is one of Vietnam’s oldest and most prestigious medical universities. The University continues to play a pioneering role in developing innovative educational models that meet the growing demand for comprehensive healthcare.
Hong Anh Healthcare Group (HAMED) is on a mission to establish and operate a comprehensive healthcare ecosystem in Vietnam based on the UK medical model. Established in 2009, Modality Partnership is widely recognised for driving innovation in healthcare through data-driven solutions, population health management, and international collaboration. Its core expertise includes healthcare data solutions, population health management, and patient-centred models of care.

Internationally Designed Programme Tailored to Vietnam’s Healthcare Needs
The “Primary & Population Health Fundamentals” programme was specifically developed for physicians, nurses, public health professionals, and frontline healthcare managers.
Combining best practices from the UK’s healthcare system with Vietnam’s healthcare context, the programme focuses on four core modules:
- Leadership & Management – developing leadership capabilities, management approaches, and effective team-building skills.
- Governance, Risk & Patient Safety – establishing quality assurance systems and effective compliance monitoring.
- Lifestyle & Population Health – applying the principles of lifestyle medicine to prevent and manage chronic diseases.
- Digital Transformation in Primary Care – exploring artificial intelligence (AI), digital technologies, and healthcare data to enhance healthcare quality and service delivery.

The course is led by experienced international experts:
- Mr Vincent Sai, Chief Executive Officer of Modality Partnership and Visiting Lecturer at the Global Business School for Health, University College London (UCL).

- Dr Vipan Bhardwaj, Executive GP Partner at Modality Partnership (Wokingham) and a specialist in Lifestyle Medicine, with more than 25 years of experience working within the United Kingdom’s National Health Service (NHS).

- Dr Helen Rutherford, Clinical Director at Modality Partnership (Wokingham), with more than 30 years of clinical experience in the United Kingdom’s National Health Service (NHS).

Upon completing the programme, each participant developed a personalised action plan tailored to their organisation’s needs. The programme equipped participants with the knowledge and skills to:
- Apply different leadership styles effectively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Establish systems for patient safety monitoring, risk management, and continuous quality improvement.
- Utilise digital technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), to optimise healthcare services.
- Design community-based intervention programmes using lifestyle medicine and behavioural health approaches.
- Develop effective workforce and financial management plans for healthcare organisations.
